[Sorry, I accidently posted this to the wrong forum first]
Hi, I am running a streaming server in order to be able to access my music collection with different clients (hardware and software) over my home network. If I select a number of songs with the server's Web interface, it sends an m3u playlist that plays fine with XMMS and other clients. With AmaroK, I can play the songs too, but I am not able to skip in a song or to other songs of the list. Reason: AmaroK modifies the playlist and makes it unusable. Example of an unmodified playlist as delivered by the server:
This is the same playlist saved with AmaroK after havind played some of the songs. Please note that some #EXTINF records are modified. These belong to songs that were played.
Questions: - How can I avaoid that AmaroK modifies a playlist? - Could this be a bug that I should report? - What would be a better way for getting a playlist from the server? I am in contact with the developer of the server software, an he could possibly test this. [Edit] Forgot to mention that I'm running Amarok on Kubuntu 6.06 with the arts engine bash(60)amarok --version Qt: 3.3.6 KDE: 3.5.3 amaroK: 1.3.9 [/Edit] Any help appreciated, Wolfgang

Hello,
a followup to my own post: I just installed AmaroK 1.4.1 and that version does not munch the playlist any more. So now I can replay a list from the server without problems. Still I can't seek inside a song with the slider in the player window. The new version uses the xine engine (arts engine no longer available), so I don't know whether the new amarok or the xine engine caused the improvement. But I think the seek problem is caused by the xine engine because I have similar problems with streamed video using Kaffeine with xine engine. Regards, Wolfgang |
