Amarok cannot update database

Mon Jul 24, 2006 4:17 pm
Hi,

since late Saturday, Amarok will not start up for me anymore. I am using latest SVN, sqlite and xine-engine. I am puzzled by the error message, maybe someone can help me and save my stats.
If I use use a (very old) backup from March 2006, Amarok succeeds starting up.

I know I should make backups of my database before upgrading (thus blaming me for loosing my stats), but as I almost daily give the lastest SVN a try, I am most of the time too lazy to do this. Maybe it would be a nice feature for svn-amarok to do the backup when there was a change in the database structure for me.

Anyway, if someone could help me to recover my stats from the obviously now broken database, I would appreciate it a lot.

Thanks, log messages appended:

According to Sebr on the amarok dev mailing list...
...you need to ensure that Persistent Tables Version = 14 and Podcast Tables Version = 2.

Editing these tables should fix your problem.
