Hi,

Firstly, excuse me for my bad english level.

I've configured some keys on my laptop to control amarok playing.
The problem is that I've just pushed the key too long and amarok continue changing current track after I released the key. The only way to stop it I found was to take control of my computer by remote control (ssh) and kill amarok process.

(amarok 1.4.1 on kde 3.5.2)

Excuse me if it's a known issue.

PS: The bug report system on kde website doesn't work.

Do I understand you right, that you have configuted shortcuts to trigger dcop calls to do something in amarok.

See, everytime you hit the button, the dcop command is started. If you press the shortcut too long (I do not know the exact value), the action will be repeated, that's a normal behavior. You can disable or change this in your KDE control center -> peripherials -> keyboard -> keyboard repeat.

PS: The bug report system on kde website doesn't work.

bugs.kde.org had a database crash...
But I think your problem is no bug.

I've tried again.
As you suggest, I've disabled the keyboard repeat (to test... I prefer with...) and I pushed the button again...
If I stay 3 secs before releasing it, amarok bug.

Why would you press the short cut for 3 seconds? This seems to be an artificial problem.

But OK, when your problem happens, can you log into the machine and use "ps xa". Just to prove my suspicion that you will see a lot of dcop processes.
This then shows, that it is not an amarok problem (if you tell amarok 100 times to switch to the next song, it should do so).

It sounds you're wrong...
There is only one dcop process in the list ^.

And if I push the button too long, it's because i didn't want the tracks which are displayed at this moment.
For example, when i'm in a terminal, that's never happen that you push the "up" key until you find the right line (if it was a complicated line for example) ?
I just do the same thing with amarok playlist...

Could you please describe your setup in more detail? It seems you are running amarok on another machine...?!

Ok ok :

I'm on my laptop with amarok. (ubuntu dapper)
I make amarok bug by pushing the next track button.

I can't use my keyboard so I'm going to my other computer, also connected on the same LAN. And I log in my laptop with ssh.
While amarok was bugging, i enter the ps command and there was only one dcop process.

Hum, if you have any question on the setup ^.

Yes, I'm ok to create a new bug entry but when I've tried, the bug database was crashed... Is this issue resolved ?
