I am trying to install the TransKode script to convert FLACs to MP3s when transferring to my iPod. The problem is, I had a botched install and when I tried to install again, it gave this message: A script with the name 'transkode' is already installed. Please uninstall it first.
There is no place to uninstall it in amarok's script manager, because it is not listed. I also looked around for a while and couldn't find anything that looked like that script. I removed amarok and reinstalled (using apt) but that did not solve my problem. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

I'm not 100% sure but I'd check in "~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts" to see if there is a 'transkode' directory. If there is one get rid of it ("rm -rf transkode" should do it). Also I'd check in "~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc" to see if transkode is mentioned anywhere. If so I'd probably delete that mention with a text editor.
The more heavy-handed approach would be to do "rm -rf ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok & rm ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc" to remove all Amarok configuration. Of course that means you'll have to built everything up again from the first run wizard on, and you'll lose any podcasts you may have downloaded to hard-disk (by default at least they're stored in "~/.kde/share/apps/amarok" somewhere).

I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what got screwed up, but I deleted all the amarok configuration and re-installed the trankode script, and it works great now!
