Hi, I am new to linux but still have a lot to learn on some aspect of compiling software.
When i try to ./configure Amarok after i installed all the dependency, i get the usual error i find in this forum (kde-config path error). Before i mess to much my installation i got to ask how to edit that --prefix line.
When it ask for ./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`, how should i write that line, i search and (kde-config) is an executable in /opt/bin/.  I did try this ./configure --prefix=/opt/bin/kde-config but with no luck. It says that its not there.
I am sure that i am writing that --prefix line wrong. :(

For the newbie like me looking for an answer to the same question. After a lot of Googling i found out how to use --prefix and the line on a slackware installation is ./configure --prefix=/opt/kde.
