I've just upgraded from amarok-1.4-beta2.2.20060gm.i586.rpm (mandriva 2006) to amarok-1.4.1-4mdk (iusing the xine engine) and when I get the context menu in the playlist it (tyhe context menu) is blank.
Screen shot here http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robert.mar ... -blank.png the problem wasn't there in the previous version though I did see the problem when using mandriva 2005 and 1.4 beta3 compiled from source. Sometimes I can briefly see the menu contents before they're replaced by blank; the sub-menu of the context menu appears ok (the one with the initial item 'this track' can't remember what the text on the parent menu is!) The context menu in the context browser occurs ok. mandriva rpms were downloaded from http://kev.coolcavemen.com/2006/07/29/a ... riva-2006/ kde version 3.4.2 Robert |

Very weird; I've never seen this before. I think it must be a broken package or some other library breakage.

Is there anything that changed between beta2 and beta3 that could be a pointer as to the broken package?
I have another m/c that I upgraded to mdk2006 yesterday so when I can sort out the dependencies I'll install it there and see if it also breaks - though I assume other folk are using amarok 1.4.1 with mandriva 2006 Yesterday I also saw a brokenness in the collection tab of amarok settings - only the / box was visible - i.e. none of the subdirectories of / appeared, but that seems to be ok today... ![]() Thanks |

Just to add the resolution of this - I moved ~/.kde out of the way and the context menus are no longer blank
It wasn't a setting in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok or ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc - as I've now copied these back over the newly generated versions and it's still ok. Couldn't see the problem in konq or any other kde app that I used but I guess it's a kde setting elsewhere that was causing this problem in 1.4.x but not in earlier versions R |
