amarok + xine + no mp3

Fri Aug 18, 2006 7:00 pm
have the following problem. want to make amarok + xine compiling. build process works finde. and amarok is starting correct. but doesn't play a mp3. for example ogg is working fine. mp3 support for xine is included with the MAD, in the listing you could see the output of the xine configure.

in my opinion it must be enough to have MAD to play mp3 ?!?!?!

problem is, that my distro ubuntu 6.06.001 comes with a sucking xine-lib, which i removed, but i found some old files in the filesystem which were not removed.

is there any methode to tell the amarok configure where the "new" xine-lib can be found, or to check which version is used by amarok to runtime?

think will work with compiler parameter or something else, but doesn't know.

PS: i know that there is a downloadable amarok 1.4 with xine + mp3 on you download page, but want to compile self, because need some special features for my ipod.

would be happy for any help

Use apt-get to uninstall stuff in the future ;)
