How do I play CDs with Amarok? Actions -> Play Audio CD does not work for me. The Play Audio CD option is grayed out. I can play CDs just fine through Kaffeine.
Can I use my Ipod? The Linux semi-Guru at work seems to think the Ipod is supported. How do I rip CDs to MP3s? I can use Kaudio Creater, but if possible I would rather just do everything with Amarok. What exactly are engines, their differences, and where do I get them? Quick answers are great, but links leading me in the right direction are just as nice. |

I'm assuming here that you're using the 1.4 series. Any earlier releases won't have most of the features I'm talking about, so upgrade first!
Should just work out-of-the-box with xine-engine (the default).
Should also just work.
Don't worry about it, the default should just be fine.

Thanks Mark. I toyed around with Amarok a bit and figured things out. KAudioCreator seems to rip CDs exponentially faster than Konqueror. Upgrading to Amarok 1.4 was a breeze and took care of a few problems I was having. My iPod works flawlessly, after I understood how to connect my Nano. I looks like my last link to Windows is about to be cut. Thanks again.
