Amarok 1.3.8-1.4.2_beta1, gentoo, gentoo-sources kernel 2.6.17.

If I load a large playlist (ive tried in the 4000-5000 range) random track play doesn't work, and it plays in order form top to bottom.
Random Album DOES work.
in 1.3.8 Shuffle playlist did NOT work (it just flipped the playlist completely, in order)... 1.4.2_beta1 shuffle playlist works fine, but I'd prefer not to do this since it makes it impossible to find a particular song.

So, why doesn't random track play work with these very large playlists (it works ifne on playlists under 100 tracks that i've tried), and is there anything I can do about it? I NEED this to work or else I've gotta find a different player (which is unfortunate since I love amarok... tied with foobar2000 for my favorite player).

In my limited testing I've noticed that it doesn't matter if random track is on or off when I first load the playlist. Let me know if there's anymore information I need to provide (or possibly even a video if it's not clear).

Thanks

That's a strange one - personally, instead of loading large playlists, I use random mix dynamic mode - until someone else can come up with a confirmation or explanation of your problem, maybe you could look into that?
