xml in playlist was invalid

Fri Sep 08, 2006 6:39 am
I've just upgraded to 1.4.3 (using the mandriva rpms at kev.coolcavemen.com) and I'm getting - not every time - a message about the xml in the playlist being invalid.

amarok 1.4.3
xine engine
using mysql as a backend

my suspicion is that it is something to do with 8bit characters - in the case I'm currently seeing the playlist has been truncated with the last record being (on saving the corrupted playlist)

#EXTINF:117,1 - 26 - L'horizon chim?ique Op 118- 4
/media/robert/Music/Fauré/Gabriel Fauré  The Complete Songs - 1 - 26 - L'horizon chim鲩que Op 118- 4.flac

(I can't play flac files at the moment but that's because I've not upgraded libxine and I assume is an independent problem)

When I first loaded amarok the playlist appeared to show some oriental characters but they seem to have redrawn now as '?'s

I'm afraid I can't remember the track after the last one that's displayed as I was using random but when I stopped amarok last night there were 50 tracks and there are now 3

I've run it from a shell but can't see any stdout/err that looks as if it should be included with this message.

1.4.3 has solved some of the problems though that I had with previous versions... :cool:
