Samba vs NFS collection scanning.

Sat Sep 09, 2006 8:36 pm
Im using amarok 1.4.3 with mysql and xine.

Basically I have the same collection with different directory structures one shared with NFS and the other with Samba.  The amarok is able to build the collection to the NFS share with 0 problems and complete functionality.  However the same can not be said for the samba share that aborts the scanning because it encounters errors with files.  It also seems that if i use the amarok file browser with the samba share i am able to play the files but it doesn't seem to be reading the tags, as it shows the file name under the title header in the playlist window, and if i hit edit track information the tags do not show up.  Unfortunetly i never used the samba share on previous amarok versions so im not sure if its an old bug.  Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Maybe have a look at how the samba share is being mounted.
This page might give some help:
