AFT? Doesn't work...

Mon Sep 11, 2006 5:02 pm
Hiya!

I have just renamed a folder and rescanned my collection with Amarok 1.4.3 on Kubuntu!

And now half of my playlists are **** up, local file does not exist...

...shouldn't AFT handle this? Uhm... o.O

Is the renamed folder part of your collection? Check in the "configure folder" dialog (the icon in the collection tab).

Yes, it is...but they told me in the IRC that AFT does not work for playlists!

Which makes this feature totally useless for me... :(

For playlists, you would need a special "Amarok"-Playlist which saves the Hash of the file together with the file name (for backward compatibility and readability). Then, Amarok can use the hash to locate the file in its collection if the filename is no longer valid.

I guess this would not be that hard in the end to add a playlist parser for this type of playlist

That would be awesome!
