Amarok Web Control

Sat Sep 16, 2006 4:21 pm
I am using Amarok 1.4.3 and have installed the WebControl script. This allows me to control Amarok from a browser front end by pointing my browser at the address http://localhost:4774/. This looks like being a great feature but I am unsure how to get another pc (windows xp) on my network to point at this same page.

I have tried using ifconfig to obtain the Amarok machines ip address then keying http://ipaddress/localhost:4774/ but this does not seem to work.

Please can someone offer some advice.

Thanks

try http://ipaddress:4774

(localhost is simply the name of your machine when it's talking to iteself)

I am a real noob, sorry if this was a seemingly simple question but thanks to your answer I am now mega pleased with what I can do with Amarok. Amarok is the business!
