Covers in amarok still a mess

Wed Sep 20, 2006 6:43 pm
Hi there,
in short I've two images in every folder containing an album: .folder.png and the cover with a resolution of 300x300 as a jpeg. Additionally all files are tagged with the cover. Amarok still uses the .folder.png (64x64). When I change the cover to the correspondending jpg, amarok deletes the .folder.png (at least since 1.4.3). So why doesn't amarok use the cover in the tag, or why is there no option to select which cover to use. There's a xmms plugin, where I can set my preferences like: First try the tag, then use the jpg, png or whatever format (with wildcards), at last use the default cover. I'm listening to my music on multiple platforms, so it would be nice, if amarok doesn't delete files autonomous. Another effect is the upscaling of the 64x64 images in the context browser. It looks ugly and apps (karamba themes, amarok scripts f. e.) using dcop, are getting the small image, too.

Greetings

I second all that.

And Amarok still deletes my covers here...using 1.4.4 on Kubuntu!
