Going to advanced search and entering a username to search by in the username field doesn't search... it says, "Did you forget something?". 

You could just search for something every post has. E.g. the letter 'e'.

But hey, here's a much better way:
If you go to the profile of a user (by clicking on the username), you can get the latest post by this user (I even think all posts).
