Zen MicroPhoto and amarok 1.4.3

Thu Oct 05, 2006 11:46 pm
Hello, I'm trying to get Amarok to connect to my Zen MicroPhoto. I'm running kubuntu dapper, and have installed libmtp 0.0.20, and compiled amarok 1.4.3 with --with-libmtp. Amarok doesn't see my device, although gnomad2 works fine. Interestingly (?), when I try to autodetect the device, I get this in console (having started amarok from terminal):

amarok:    Error during DCOP call

Also, I seem to recall someone suggesting that one should simply manually add the device in settings, selecting "the mtp plugin", but I don't even see such a plugin listed. Should I be seeing it?

I'd be most appreciative of any help - gnomad2 works, but is very clunky.
