I don't know if I am missing something or if this is a bug. but over 160 of my music files are being sorted under "Various Artists" instead of by artist name like the rest of them. I have tryed re-typeing the tags and reloading the collection. No go. Any thoughts?

I see this occassionally, I'm not sure why.

I normally remove it from the various artists list by selecting the album name in the collection are, right-clicking on it and then selecting remove from various artists.

I'm using Amarok 1.4.4, I think it was called remove from compillation in previous versions.

Hope this helps.

1.4.4 hasn't been released; you must be using an inofficial snapshot.

I am using 1.4.3, and that is an official release.

Thanx pburness. That seemed to work.

There was a version of amarok where you had various artists albums listed under "various artists" and under the specific artist as well, I think this was the best behaviour. It's a little untidy, but I think it was the most intuitive way.

I wish this was an option at least, to have a default for the three options:
* Group Varius artists albums under the "various artists" tag
* Ungroup Various artists albums
* Show various artists albums under the "varoius artists" tag and on each artists tag.

What do you think?

Yeah I thought that was good as well. But we had a HUGE discussion about it, lasting for weeks, with users and devs. And ultimately most users wanted to have it the way it is now. *shrug*

Interesting, and bad luck I guess...    :rolleyes:
Are you a developer?, do you think it would be possible to set this kind of thing like an option?

Can you point me to that HUGE discussion?, I'm interested...
