Hi All,
I have a Creative Zen Vision:M that I have working under Edgy with Gnomad2 with libnjb and libmtp. Unfortunately, I can't get it to detect in Amarok. So, a couple of questions: In the Media Devices preference tab, there is no option in the drop-down list for MTP - should there be one, or am I supposed to click on Creative Nomad Jukebox? How do I recompile Amarok from the sources using Gnome? Even though I have the kdelib packages installed, when I run ./configure --with-mtp, I get the following error:
What are the kdelib filenames so I can search for them? Or can anyone tell me the name of the directory that I should use as my --prefix= ? Finally, what other info do you need to help me diagnose it? When I get home from work I'll run mtp-detect and amarok from the console. Advice much appreciated. |

Make sure you have the kde development packages installed for your distro. They will be needed for building from source. Once your Amarok has been built with MTP support (ensure that running ./configure tells you that it will build MTP), it will be available in the device type dropdown. |

More woes, unfortunately.
I compiled from the 1.4.4 source, but now don't have Musicbrainz support - despite installing all the musicbrainz libs I could find from the repos - which ones do I need? Compiling with the --with-libmtp now means that I have an option in the Media devices tab drop-down for MTP devices, and my Zen-vision:M is recognised by mtp-detect. Amarok doesn't autodetect my device, though, and when I click on "Connect" it just freezes without ever actually doing anything. Increasingly frustrated.... - does anyone have a like to a .deb that I could use? |

If you run amarok from the command line, do you get any useful output when you connect to the device? |
