Dear Amarockers,
I'm using latest stable Amarok - 1.4.4. I followed the instructions in the wiki to export and import back my amarok MySQL collection. After importing the collection to amarok it simply didn't notice there is any collection data (whereas I checked that database and connection settings are ok). Kind people from #amarok irc channel adviced me to delete amarokrc. So did I. Amarok started in it's default configuration. I filled up mysql database settings and selected watched folders. All of a sudden a popup appeared with a message: "MySQL error: Access denied for user 'pielgrzym'@'localhost' (using password: NO)" Now the strange stuff: a) I set up amarok to log on as user 'amarok' not as user 'pielgrzym' (pielgrzym is the user running amarok actually, the user loged on to kde); b) I did provide a password in amarok settings... c) user amarok has root privileges d) I disabled firewall to be certain it doesn't interfere with anything I tried to do this several time and it's always the same. If I hit 'rescan collection' amarok builds a proper mysql db collection (yet a clean one, without statistics). The bug occurs on Ubuntu Dapper and Ubuntu Edgy with the same standard configured MySQL database. Any ideas how to fix it? I'd really love to reuse my database |
