I entered my username & password into the last.fm section of the preferences...  both checkboxes are checked...  but nothing shows up on my last.fm profile.  How do I troubleshoot this?  I can't figure out anything from the logs ( in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok).  Here are the last few lines from statusbar.log.0:
Code: Select all

[11/12/2006 10:38:40 AM] Contacting:

[11/12/2006 10:42:17 AM] Connecting to stream source...
[11/12/2006 10:48:41 AM] Some media could not be loaded (not playable).

I think there was a .jpg in the folder that I queued up that caused the not playable message. I'm on SUSE 10.1

Any help is much appreciated!

This seems to have been related to my problem with Samba shares.  Since I was using the filebrowser to play mp3s on a Samba share, Amarok was treating them as streamed files.  Amarok does not submit streamed files to last.fm (I think this is due to a request on last.fm's part).  Anyway I really wish they would get over the bias against streamed files...

I believe it's not so much a bias, as an exasperation with the fact that there's no uniform method of dealing with tags amongst the various streamers. Last.fm would be quickly rendered impractical if all the stream tags out there were submitted as they appear. Just because the streams YOU listen to might have well behaved tags, it certainly doesn't follow that the hundreds of thousands of OTHER streams do :D

There are some real shockers out there!
