Compiling 1.4.4 - which compiler? [SOLVED]

I am trying to compile Amarok 1.4.4 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, but I am getting loads of errors. Configure works fine, but compiling bombs. I thought it was the compiler (SLES has gcc 3.3), but apparently not. After looking further into it, it seems that SLES has KDE 3.2, and Amarok needs KDE 3.3. That could be it.
