No suitable demux plugin

Amarok does not play anything. He says - "No suitable demux plugin". Any ideas?

Can you provide more information about your system. Otherwise it gets very hard helping you.
Valueable information are e.g.: Distribution, Amarok version (and if it is built from source or a distribution packet)

Have you looked into the FAQ in the Wiki?

Slackware 11, AmaroK is from source.
I've checked xine - "xine-check" - it says all is good.
xinelib version - 1.1.3.
Any ideas?
