I'm having problems anytime Amarok tries to pass a web page off to Konqueror (for example, If I navigate from a wikipedia entry to a linked external website). A window will pop up, showing that the page is being downloaded to /private/var/tmp/kdecache-username/krun/2441.0 (for example). Then a Konqueror window pops up saying that that file doesn't exist. Sure enough, my krun folder is completely empty. If, however, I navigate to /private/var/tmp/kdecache-username/http/d/ (for example), there is the downloaded discogs page I'm looking for.
Anyone know how I can fix this ? I'm running a fink compiled 1.4.4 with KDE 3.5.5 on OS X 10.4.8 |

I have the exact same problem on Kubuntu Edgy. Kde 3.5.5
I found this at the Ubuntu forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=273962 And tried doing the same with Konqi, changed it in the System Settings, Default Applications (perhaps that was the wrong place to do so), but to no avail... Any help out there? |

Had the same problem and interestingly your link provided the solution for me.
Just entered "konqueror %U" int the custom browser field in the amarok configuation and now the lyrc website appears again. Bye, tira. |

Hey, it works for me too (should've thought of that one, rather than going round KDE settings)
Thanks! Sava |

Shouted victory too soon. Amarok doesn't keep the setting for me. If I set konqueror %U in preferences it seems to work, but if I enter preferences again the setting I did is gone. Next time I start amarok the story is the same again.
Bye, tira. |

Does the setting stick if you change it, then quit Amarok and restart it?

That seems to work. I changed the setting to "konqueror %U" and immediately quit Amarok. After restart (few times so far) lyrc and wikipedia sites open o.k. , the setting in the combo box (or is it dropdown menu?) says still "KDE Standardbrowser", though. Bye, tira. |

Hi there everyone,
Amarok 1.4.4 Fedora Core 5 KDE 3.5 While viewing the context tab, when playing a song, I click on lyrics, and I'm presented with 5 options right below the lyrics tab: Refresh|Add|Edit|Search and then what looks to be a configuration button. Refresh refreshes the lyric list no problem. All the rest of the buttons cause an odd thing to happen. If I click one of the other buttons, It brings up a popup that loads the page, then it tries to send it to the browser. The browser however attempts to save the php file, and doesn't print it to screen. I've tried switching browsers from konqueror to Firefox, but the problem persists. Other users on the Fedora forum I frequent has the same problem. If I click MusicBrainz, it brings up the popup, and then correctly loads the page in the browser. How can I get the lyric options to act like MusicBrainz? thanks, json |

I had already searched:
"lyrics links" & "lyrics add edit" with no results. Pointing me to the thread or offering better search terms would be greatly appreciated. thanks, json |

how did you specify the browser? In amarok? Did you use the pulldown menu, or did you use the 'specify' bit to specify the path yourself? Or did you change the default browser in kde?
Whichever option you did chose, have you tried any of the others?

Hi there,
In Amarok, I opened the preferences and chose from the dropdown "Firefox". It was originally set as "Konqueror". When Firefox did the same thing, I tried "Opera", but again had the same problem. Was I supposed to use a different method of choosing the default browser? thanks, json |

it's not a matter of "supposed to" - I was just asking what you'd tried.
Try setting it to "Default KDE Browser".
