I just upgraded to SuSE 10.2 (upgraded, not a fresh install, from 10.0). I was running 1.4.4-Guru on 10.0, and am running current 10.2 Guru RPMS as of 12/12/06.
Amarok is now crashing whenever it encounters my iPod (30GB Video), whether I plug in while Amarok is running, or if I launch Amarok after the iPod is already connected. I have tried deleting the device and re-adding it from within Amarok, but no luck so far. My error message is: amarokapp: symbol lookup error: /opt/kde3/lib/kde3/libamarok_ipod-mediadevice.so: undefined symbol: itdb_device_get_ipod_info I've done my best to verify that I have the latest of all dependencies including libgpod. I should note again that I use this iPod with other 1.4.4 Amarok installations on other machines, so my guess is that SuSE 10.2 is doing something different than 10.0 and 10.1 have done, or that some library got deleted in the upgrade. Everything except on the Mac, haven't figured the iPod piece out that one out yet. Anyone else seeing this? |

I see that you have no reply to your problem. I have just experienced the same thing, only using Freespire. Whenever Amarok encounters the mounted ipod, it crashes and somehow starts Firefox at its homepage.
Did you ever get a fix? |

I suggest getting the newest version of Amarok (1.4.5) first. If that doesn't work, the next step I suggest is to get the source and see if it compiles.
