anyone use the two succesfully together. using ubuntu 6.10, and running e17 instead of GNOME. amarok doesn't have, not really sure how to say this, but no window mangager stuff.  everything's cut off above the search & the 3 tabs, and i can't move the window.

You mean you have no window decoration?
Try holding ALT and do a rightklick, then you can access e17's setting for that window (which includes which border it uses). If you hold ALT and leftclick the window you can drag it, ALT und middleclick resizes.
