libmtp-0.1.0 and Amarok-1.4.4?

Sun Dec 24, 2006 9:20 am
Hi all.

First of all, excuse me if this has already been asked, but I used the search function and I couldn't find any topic reflecting exactly what I wanted to ask.

My inquiry is if Amarok-1.4.4 has support for this version, or if this version of libmtp is backwards compatible enough to be used by Amarok, and if only a rebuild of Amarok would be necessary for including such support (or if the changes in libmtp-0.1.0 are so that support has to be coded into Amarok)

I too would like clarification on this as 0.1.0 is where my device was finally working.

well libMTP 0.1.2 and amarok 1.4.4 play together fairly well. I was able to transfer a playlist and some tracks. but for some reason I had two track fail to transfer with the following error:
PTP: General Error
LIBMTP_Send_Track_From_File_Descriptor: Could not send object info
Return code: 0x2002 (look this up in ptp.h for an explanation).

So It works hit or miss. But we're making progress.

I'm gonna recompile libMTP with debug enabled so I can send the info to Linus and Richard to see if they can shed light on the problem.
