I searched for a resolution to this problem and couldn't find one in this forum. Please excuse the message if I somehow missed it.
In my Kubuntu (Dapper) environment, I am running Amarok 1.4.3 (upgraded from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2 to 1.4.3) and I am still getting the message: "mp3 is not a supported file type" when I try to use the Musicbrainz database. When I googled the problem, one solution I found was to simply upgrade to the latest version. Obviously that didn't work. Another solution was found at the ubuntu site and it mentioned needing to recompile tunepimp. I haven't tried that solution yet because it required deb-reversing to prevent auto upgrading, blah, blah. My question is, is there a simple solution? tia, r. |

Unfortunately, the easiest solution is to just use the musicbrainz site manually or download their picard tagger if you don't want to compile things yourself.
