My whole collection is on a nfs-mounted share from a remote server. When the connection breaks (i.e : remote server needs to reboot) then amarok seems to dump the whole collection and I need to rebuild it from the scratch which takes about one hour.
Is there any way to tell amarok to keep the memorized collection in case there is not a single mp3-file where the collection is supposed to be? thnx |

make sure you're using latest version of amarok, and disable the "watch folders for changes" setting on the collection page in amarok settings (useful if you often lose network connection)

If I do disable this setting and there are changes on my collection. Is there a way to manually check for changes without needing to rebuild the whole collection?
thnx |

Yes, a button will appear in the collection browser, "Scan Changes". (might require a restart)
In SVN we've replaced this slightly confusing feature with a menu entry that is always visible.
