amaroK 1.3.1 to 1.4.4

Hi,
I am a new Linux user.

My Mandriva distro came with amaroK 1.3 I just installed 1.4 and when I start amaroK I get a new splash screen that says 1.4 but Help > About still reports 1.3.1 Is there a way to verify that my amarok is the new 1.4 version?

BTW: I didnt know where to install it so issued ./config and make etc from $HOME/Progs/amarok-1.4.4/ after installing the pre-requisites (ruby, taglib etc also in $HOME/Progs

Make sure you uninstall the old copy of amarok using your mandriva package manager. You may need to reinstall 1.4.4 after you do this.
