I have a strange problem with my ipod mount location being corrupted. This error just showed up one day. Prior to this error I was able to use Amarok perfectly to copy files and cover art to my ipod. Here is and example of what is showing up in Location of the details of an MP3:
That garbage before /iPod_Control should be /media/ipod. Like I said this was working fine, but know I can not copy or play mp3s to/from ipod. I do use gtkpod as well for copying movies to my ipod and that has no issues at all. However, I prefer amarok's interface because it's just too nice to not use :) I was, at one point, able to setup the device manually and for some reason the garbage at the beggining of the location would be gone. The location would just start with "/iPod_Control" So I just set up a sym link from /iPod_Control -> /media/ipod/iPod_Control But, now that is not even working. Any ideas? I've tried removing amarok and reinstalling and removing ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc neither helped. I've tried compiling amarok myself, but it seems my gtk libraries are too new and I'm not completely sure what I can do to fix this. Environment: Amarak 1.4.4 (Debian etch) libgpod 0.4.0 (src build) KDE 3.5.5 Thanks Chris |

Check that this is not the case : http://amarok.kde.org/forum/index.php/t ... 383.0.html

Yeah, I read that one. Maybe libgpod 0.4.0 is too new for amarok 1.4.4?? I was just going off the requirements page http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Requirements where it says libgpod 0.3.2 or newer.
I just found something about disabling subfs/submount. I'm going to either try libgpod <0.4.0 and/or disable subfs. I'll reply with anything I find. |

Alright so I figured out my Qt libraries problem, in my original post I put GTK libraries accidently. I installed kde-devel which gave me the correct libraries and was successfully able to compile Amarok. I was also able to configure everything I wanted into the build (mySQL, Xine-engine, etc), was a pain in the ****, but worth it.
Amarok is now up and running beautifully. The only thing I could not manage to get to configure is the libvisual (I apt-get'd libvisual-0.4-0, libvisual-0.4-dev, and libvisual-0.4-plugins). I rarely use the visual, so no sweat. There must be some issue with the Debian (etch) package of amarok. |
