I have an iPod with Rockbox installed on it. Likewise, I use my iPod as a Generic Audio Player in Amarok because Rockbox uses Directory based browsing instead of the complicated iTunes/iPod database mess. Today I was attempting to transfer some of my asian music when I noticed that in the process of the automatic file renaming, it doesn't seem to understand the characters at all. Instead, they show up as gibberish. To make things worse, any files or folders with the "gibberish" in them refuse to transfer over at all. Is Amarok not handling files in Unicode with media devices? Is there a workaround or fix at all?
Any help would be great, thanks. |

Same thing happens with cyrillic and I guess non-English European too. I'm using Gentoo. Found no solution for this. The great "Media device" ability of amarok becomes useless. Amarok itself reads what it has written incorrectly. My tags are unicode (at least most of them). Does amarok recodes them into ISO*** and why?
