Is there any way to get my iTunes collection into Amarok?  I want to make the switch without losing recently purchased songs.

Anything purchased from apple will have to be burned to cd and re-ripped. If you never upgraded from iTunes 6 you can use Jhymn to decrypt the songs but otherwise you have to re-encode. That's why DRM's bad, M-kaaayy.

Everything else that iTunes can play, Amarok should be able to handle (excepting .AIF files, movies, and mp3s exported from quicktime with .mpg extensions of course).

Be aware you might have tag problems. For that, avail yourself of the search button.
