Amarok 1.4.4:
Amarok will NOT build a collection. My music is stored on a Windows share. I have mounted the share, and confirmed it is available. I have opened Amarok, configured the collection location for the mounted share. I hit the scan collection button, and the progress bar goes to 100% quickly, and no collection is built. To test the database function (SQL lite) I copied some of the music folders to the local hard drive from the network share, and re-pointed the collection to the local files, hit the scan collection button, and my collection is built. Also if i hit the files tab in Amarok on the left hand side, and browse to the network mount directory I can see all of the network files just fine, and they will also play just fine.

I did the exact same tests on SUSE 10.2, and my results were exactly the same.

Can any one please eleborate on why Amarok cannot build a collection of files stored on a Windows share.
