'Favorite tracks' Context issue...

Tue Feb 06, 2007 7:07 am
I successfully compiled Amarok 1.4.5 from SVN.  It was a great deal of fun and I would like to thank many chaps in the #amarok channel.  I do have an issue though.  Keep in mind that I am on Ubuntu Edgy 6.10 (yes, I am using Gnome).

1)  The old favorite tracks 'tab' in the context browser still doesn't seem to work perfectly.  All artists that I had played in 1.4.4 (where it did not display at all) display AND update for the favorite tracks tab.  HOWEVER, if I play an artist that was never played before, the 'favorite tracks' NEVER pops up in context.  I have tried with numerous bands and many songs.  I have rebooted and restarted and etc.  Favorite tracks work fine for all bands played before 1.4.5 and not at all for bands that have never had any plays.  EDIT***** actually i was wrong.  It does not work perfectly for artists that were played prior to 1.4.5, ONLY tracks.  It will not add any new tracks to the 'favorite tracks,' only continue to updates ones that were already there.

This is going to make you laugh... but a working favorite tracks tab is the main reason I upgraded to 1.4.5. :P  It worked fine in 1.4.3, but was broken in 1.4.4.  I was told it was fixed and apparently it might be as it works with the artists mentioned, but not new ones.

I would like to say that Amarok + K3b integration is flawless.  It never worked on any packages I used to use, but compiling everything myself has made it kick in.  It is wonderful to now have such powerful burning capabilities at my fingertips.  Keep up the good work and I hope you can help me with my problem.

Another minor Context browser issue.

The album playing is Leatherface - The Last.  It was missing the year tag so I added in the 1994 as you can see on the playlist.  The problem is it will not update over in the context browser.  I updated collection and rebooted the app.  The year still won't display in Context.

Thanks. :)

I have amazing news!!!

I decided to delete my database and wipe all plays, scores, etc. for the sake of trying 1.4.5 totally fresh.  This fixed both of the above issues!  Amarok 1.4.5 and the Context Browser now work flawlessly!!!  This was a pretty harsh step to have to take, but I am glad now all is good.
