I'm using the latest version of AmaroK offered by K/Ubuntu.
I moved over my iTunes library from my mac and deleted all the DRM'd music and videos. That leaves about 4,000 songs. Those I then converted to Ogg using mp32ogg (with the -- verbose and --delete options on). I launch AmaroK and left-click Collection. I then select Add media and navigate to the Music folder in my home folder. It seems to start just fine, importing about 59% of the media it found. Then AmaroK seems to just .... stop. Always at 59%. Same behavior on Gnome or KDE. Has anyone had a problem remotely similar to this one? My next step is to break my music folder into smaller pieces and import those. Your experience and advice are greatly appreciated. EB |

Try to start Amarok in a terminal to get output and track the problems.
Good luck!

Some of the tags on the songs might have special characters like ' or " or something like that. Check for such errors on the forum and see if it helps.
