Hi!

Labeling multiple tracks at once works like a charm: Mark a few artists/albums/tracks/... in the collection browser, select "edit meta data for xxx tracks" from the context menu, add the labels, save. Fine. Labels are added, existing labels are kept.

Now there is no procedure for the inverse task.

In the special case that all the selected tracks have the same set of labels, they are even shown in the collective (vs. "per track") label dialog, but removing them there and saving doesn't change the labels at all.

Usually the tracks would have different sets of labels, and then there is no way at all to accomplish the task to, e.g. remove some specific label from all tracks at once. But I think, such a possibility would be useful. Maybe I want to rename a label or such...

The only workaround I found, is to switch to "per track" view and do it manually...

Is there another way?

Maybe one could invent a syntax like labelling with "-

The whole label thing needs some work anyway. Amarok is doing a nice job, but I'm not going to label 8000+ tracks myself, so I sync them with last.fm - and boy, are those labels f*cked up... some cleanup script which removes all the cruft would be cool. you can blacklist stuff in synctags, but that's not enough by far...
