Ipod Playlist Not Re-Ordering

Thu Mar 01, 2007 9:37 am
Hi guys,

I am a linux noob, I have installed PCLinuxOS (2007 Test release 2) in an attempt to sling off the windoze shackles.  I am very impressed with Amarok however there is one issue that is bothering me...

When I rename playlists, they do not re-order themselves alphanumerically, so I get

  • Queen
  • Abba
  • The Rolling Stones

Where i previously had
  • 01 - Queen
  • 02 - Abba
  • 03 - The Rolling Stones

I use the numbering system so that I can put whatever playlists i like at the top of the list (my ipod is normally connected to my car stereo, less button presses means safer driving!!)

The playlist titles change fine, however the order does not sort.  If i plug the ipod into iTunes on my windows (yuk!) or mac boxes then the playlist re-orders itself perfectly.

Tech Specs:
  • Latest Version of Amarok (1.4.4 for PCLinuxOS i believe)
  • 3rd Gen 20GB Ipod (the old boy has done me proud..)

Any help would be much appreciated!!
