Amarok will not launch

Tue Mar 06, 2007 3:15 am
Hi, amarok will not launch for me. Im running Ubuntu edgy and have used amarok before and love it but i just reinstalled ubuntu and now amarok does not work. I have installed from repo and built from source, neither one work. I launch amarok and it does first launch wizard but when that's finished the full app doesnt load, it breifly displays the building collection screen but that only appears for a few seconds and then nothing happens. I don't even know where to begin. Please help I love amarok and it's the only app that works with my Creative Zen Vision:m

Can you launch it in a terminal and look at the output there?

I am having a similar problem in openSUSE 10.2. Amarok was working fine for a long while, now it tries to launch and dies. The Konsole error reads:

_X11TransSocketINETConnect() can't get address for localhost:6000: Name or service not known
: cannot connect to X server :0

KDE is running fine, so clearly I've got an X server running. All thoughts appreciated.

I'm also having the same problems.

I've sent a bug report thru the one created automatically after the crash. After the crash amarok won't start.

Here's the message:
