Edit lyrics function not working

Tue Mar 06, 2007 11:29 am
I've successfully submitted lyrics to lyrc.com -- at least I think I have. However, the edit menu froze up Amarok (1.4.3) last time I tried to use it, and tonight, refuses to leave that function. No new lyrics, no matter how many times I click the refresh button. Does edit actually work for anybody? If so, how does it work?

I've downloaded the new script for LyricWiki, and am hoping that will work better. Should I uninstall the Lyrc.com script that is presently running? Do any of these scripts affect the submit and/or edit function?

Valorie (Kubuntu on Dapper Drake, KDE 3.5.5)

No need to remove, just stop the current lyric script and start another.

Thanks for that advice! My original problem was gone today, in a new session, thank goodness.

I stopped the old Lyrc script, and successfully installed a new Wikilyrics script, which is MUCH better quality. AND, it will still consult Lyrc, among quite a few other databases, if it can't find lyrics at Wikilyrics. Nice! I think this is the script that should be included by default, instead of the Lyrc-only script. I know that some people hate QT, but -- oh, well!

I haven't tried the edit menu yet, because all the lyrics have been perfect.

Editing only saves the changes to your local database!
