Question about Shoutcast Support

Fri Mar 09, 2007 9:11 pm
I've just installed the cd3o support from this thread.  OK, it was a pain converting it from 1.3.6 support to 1.4.5, as I'm not really a "coder", but at least it works.  At least for mp3s.

But I can't seem to make it work for Shoutcast streams.  So, my question is this:

Which component does the actual streaming.  Is it in Amorok, who then passes the stream to the plug-in.  Or, does Amarok just pass over the URL to the plug-in that has to handle everything.

Cheers.

Amarok indeed just tells the backend (e.g. xinelib): "Play this URL!". The rest is all done by the backend.

That's what I'd kinda guessed.  Thanks.

Cheers.
