Hi everyone !

Since my new ArchLinux install (didn't happen on the former one, although it was the same Amarok version), my collection is being checked for updates about every minute. It lasts about 10 seconds and happens several times during a track play, and even if Amarok is not playing anything.

The strange thing is that no modification is being made to my collection directory... But Amarok verifies it anyway, all the time, for no reason.

Does anyone have an idea what may trigger this issue ? (I have almost no daemon running, and tried under both kde and gnome)

Do you have "watch folder for changes" enabled in the collection configuration?

Sure. Of course I temporarily unchecked it to make the system more responsive. However, I had checked it as well under my previous installs and it did behave correctly (just update the collection if something was really modified).

Do you have an active download directory as part of your collection?

If you download music into a collection folder (eg via a torrent or similar) then amarok detects modification times on the folder and rescans.

The best solution is to not download music straight into your collection, but to set up a holding directory for downloads. You can then use the files browser to move these tracks to your collection when they're complete.

If this isn't the case, then no idea, sorry!

Well, of course I don't Maybe there's a mysterious process that does something in my collection directory but I really have no idea
