I have a big music collection and finally got my ipod to sync with amarok. Hurrah!
The problem is that I can't get playlists created in amarok to show up as playlists on my ipod, even if they are listed under playlists in the browser window in amarok. Now, is this a feature that is not supported, or am I doing something so stupid that no-one even thinks to mention it in tutorials? Also, podcasts, while they are transferred across, do not show up under 'podcasts' in the ipod menu, only under 'artists'. Can anyone help me? Even just to tell me that amarok can't do this? Or that I am a moron? I have checked out this thread : http://amarok.kde.org/forum/index.php/t ... html But don't understand the advice. My ipod doesn't seem to have a Playlists folder and I can't see anything in the right click menu. Does it refer to an older version? I am using ubuntu dapper (6.06) and Amarok 1.4.3. |

right, an update on the issue.
I conjectured that in playing around with my ipod I may have removed some folder or other by accident, so I plugged the device into a windows box to see if I could transfer a playlist from itunes and thus 'remind' the ipod how to use playlists. Hey presto! The playlists I had transferred over appeared. The puzzling thing is that the podcasts still don't work and any new playlists I create in amarok won't go over. I'll keep working this out, unless someone has a suggestion? |

you can either copy playlists from your collection to your ipod (but you have to initiate that, it won't happen automatically) or you can create playlists on your ipod (just drag something already on your ipod to the Playlists folder on your ipod)
