Hi all!
Amarok had always been the player of my choice when I was using Ubuntu edgy. However, since I upgraded to feisty fawn, Amarok just doesn't seem to work. I install Amarok and if I try to play a song in Amarok, it just hangs at the building playlist command and doesn't do anything after it. Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated! This could be a Kubuntu package specific issue. Could you please report the problem at launchpad, or talk to the kubuntu devs on irc?
You could however try to remove your old Amarok config: rm -rf ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok rm ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc Might help.

I deleted all the three files that I was advised to, and now when I try to play a file in Amarok it tells me that there is no mp3 support for Amarok and then hangs.
I will also file a bug at Launchpad, |

Yeah well, you will have to obtain a xinelib with mp3 support. That's normal.
Check our wiki for instructions.
