I've got Amarok working fine for mp3s now.
I added a shard drive from my LAN winXP PC , so that I could play the music on it through Amarok. It appears as a folder on my desktop. But it will not play music from the shared Windows drive . Amarok just shuts dowm when asked to open the mp3 files. Is this expected behaviour ? When opening files to play it does not offer the shard folder asa place from which to select songs either... A. |

The directory you see on your desktop isn't really there, which is why you don't see it.
Try going to media:/ in Konqueror, finding the share, right-clicking the representation of the share, and click "Properties". Poke around in there to see if it is actually mounted somewhere (I'm not familiar with SMB shares). If it is, you can go to this directory in Amarok and opening MP3s from there. |
