Hi

I'm having some trouble with Amarok not finding a suitable plugin for mp4 files. Kaffeine gives the same message, looks to be from the xine engine:

"No suitable demux plugin. This often means that the file format is not supported"

I've searched and installed all the mp4 libs I can find. Anyone know what package is needed? I'm running Kubuntu 704

Cheers

You need a xine-lib with enabled aac support.

Hi, thanks

I looked through packages with Adept and it seems i have all the packages relating to xine and aac installed. Is there a specific package to install?
I installed faac and ffmpeg as well, based on some googlings.

Is there any way to do a xine codec check?

If you have xine-ui installed, try
xine --list-plugins
