I get some REALLY annoying random skips (like less than half a second gaps) during playback of mp3s and especially flac files. I read about similar issues on some posts but they seem pretty old.. Anyone having any such problem recently?
Note that with mplayer or audacious everything goes smooth, so it's not a performance problem. It might be an issue with xine-lib but i couldn't find anything recent about that either.. gcc (GCC) 4.1.1 (Gentoo 4.1.1) 2.6.19-gentoo-r5 on amd64 Qt: 3.3.8 KDE: 3.5.6 Amarok: 1.4.5 xine-lib:1.1.4 thx! Same here!
I did some investigation here. It seems like amarok constantly polls dcop and on some high load, dcop stop to respdond for seconds. During dcop call amarok simply hangs. btw, dcop stop to respond while syscalling "select(...". I suffer from this problem a lot. May be my report will help. |
