Omitting "The" from artist names order?

Hey guys, I love this player it's my absolute favorite i've ever used. But somethings thats been bugging me is bands that start with "The" end up being in the T section. Is there any way to omit "the" from the artist check?

What version are you using? Recent version do exactly what you are asking for.

I have 1.3.9.

you really should upgrade to 1.4.5 - the version you're using is so old it's pretty much unsupported now.

I'm totally new to Linux.

Most of the guides to installing a new version are kinda messed up. Could someone help me out with the process? I'm using Ubuntu 6.06.1.
