Playing Variable Bit Rate wma files

Mon Jun 04, 2007 9:54 am
Hi

I'm using Amarok 1.4.5 using KDE 3.5.6, but I'm running it on Ubuntu (I believe I downloaded all of the appropriate dependencies to do this).

I've been importing some of my old tracks which are in WMA format, and they all appear to work fine apart from the ones that were saved as variable bit rate files. These just seem to play the entire track in a very short amount of time, leading to me just getting a short (less than a second) strange burst of noise.

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or will I just have to rip all of those CDs again?

Thanks

Actually, after some investigation with a friend, it turns out that somehow Windows Media Player started copy-protecting things at the same time I changed it to variable bit rate, so it was the DRM causing the problem.
