Just installed and pointed at my directory with MP3 files (structured by iTunes ie folder for each artist, then album, then tracks). All music found by when I play Amarok just skips through the track in a second.
All the media is ok, VLC Media plays the tracks no problem. Any ideas ? FIXED IT, UPDATED VERSION AND INSTALLED MP3 SUPPORT ! J

Updated to what? I have done a partial distribution upgrade so I can get Amarok 2.0.1 under KDE 4.2 and still get a similar problem. it will skip through five or six songs and then the last one does not play and stays at time 0:00. I am running Ubuntu 8.10 using the Gnome interface atm. There are no updates in the queue that I can get (and the one grayed-out one is an image viewer). I'm just lost here.

Hm, you guys should:
1. make sure you use the Xine backend in Phonon, as Gstreamer is rather buggy 2. Be sure you have installed the necessary library for mp3. It's called libxine1-ffmpeg for K/Ubuntu. Name might be different on other distributions. But I'm sure this question has been answered numerous times already on this forum, so why not do a search for "codec" or just "mp3"?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Already got the library. Fixed now. I had searched for mp3 -- didn't get anything.
