This is an image of the right click dialog box in my playlist window. I can't figure out what would be causing this, I can't remember how long this has been this way, but it has been a while. I can't figure out what exactly is wrong with it. I'm running on Gentoo unstable AMD64 and for anyone who wants it, here's my emerge info:
and the version of amarok I'm running although this problem seems to transverse all the versions of amarok I have tried: amarok-1.4.6_pre20070608-r1 |

Are you running Beryl or similar?

Composite but that's it. I have beryl installed but I stopped using it months ago. I'll try uninstalling it, but I'm pretty sure it will have no effect.

Try changing your font.

I have tried changing fonts, but it didn't help. What fonts particularly do you recommend?

I was just making a wild guess, since your font looked somewhat unusual. Other than that I'm afraid I have no idea what's wrong
![]() Technically I don't have an explanation. Do all of your other KDE applications work without problems?

Every once in a while composite manager crashes. And Kuroo (a portage frontend) stopped working long ago, but that's about it. I also tried it in e16 and twm and it didn't change anything.

There is one thing that makes the playlist context menu special: It shows a pixmap along the left border, for purely cosmetic reasons. That's why we're using a special extended menu class there (which in in fact was written by me).
However, I've never seen any problems with our code, so I'm wondering how the hell it could fail so spectacularly for you. Looks like nothing is drawn at all. I'm fairly positive that something's wrong with your setup. Perhaps a KDElibs or Qt issue, or something with the graphics drivers. Does the K menu in the KDE taskbar work for you? It's using similar code.

K Menu works fine. Could it be that I have set the menu to have a degree of translucency? I'll test that and then, if that doesn't work, I'll try recompiling KDElibs and Qt (one at a time, of course).

Well, the Kmenu being translucent was doing it. No matter if I have it set for XRender blend, Software Blend, or Software Tint it isn't working. I have the nvidia proprietary drivers with twinview enabled and have been seeing this issue probably at least since the first edition of built in compiz effects in the nvidia drivers. Anything else I give you to help, let me know.

Hi,
There seems to be a problem with the latest QtCurve. Maybe you're using that style? I don't know any solutions other than changing the style, but you can read more here: kde-look (page 41, topic "Re: Tabs" near the bottom) Good luck!

Nope, I'm not using the QtCurve Style. I'm using the NEWstep style.
